Creative Campaigning at Teen Spirit

Posted on: 27th February 2012

This post comes from Dawn, who is currently an intern working with Teen Spirit…

“Five weeks into my Teen Spirit internship at Body & Soul and I have to say I’m still amazed at how talented the members of Teen Spirit are. I can honestly say I have never encountered a more talented and determined group of young people!

Following on from the ‘Life in my Shoes’ themed night, which aimed to bring everyone up to speed with the campaign, the artistic feeling was kept flowing last Thursday with shoe graffiti and an illustration master class. A film making workshop focused on editing skills for our Teen Spirit film producers who are working on their mini-films, ‘A Walk in my Shoes’. The dance group began working on a new routine for their upcoming video project. Project Jam began composing songs and the Album Project continued recording and working on songs (which had been performed live the previous week with an electric atmosphere!).

I ran ‘Condom Casino’, the fun way to test your HIV/sexual health knowledge and win lots of condoms in the process! It’s really important to make sure that we keep making up interesting, fun and new ways to learn about HIV - both at Teen Spirit and further afield. Take a look at our Factory page and test yourself on the game, the quiz or the wordle to see what I mean!

We also made pancakes in the basement just because its always time for pancakes, be it pancake day or not! And although some ended up looking like scrambled eggs, we finally got there.

Well done Teen Spirit, your talents are endless, and it’s so exciting to see you working so hard on projects about the campaign you’ve helped build!
