On Sunday the 28th October 2012, Terry took part in the ‘Run to the Beat’ half marathon on behalf of Body & Soul. Run to the Beat takes place in London each year, with live music around the course. The course starts and finishes at the O2 Arena and takes the runners around Greenwich; with music stations along the way, this is a great event for both runners and music lovers. We’re so grateful to Terry and impressed by this amazing effort – so far he’s raised a over £283.00 for Body & Soul!
Body & Soul is a charity close to Terry’s heart, as he explains on his JustGiving page: ‘‘I have known many people with HIV, and even with their friends and family around it is still a very hard experience to go through. It is emotional for many people because quite naturally it isn’t something that most people expect to find out. However, there are also people out there that don’t even have friends or family turn to, and in those situations charities such as Body and Soul are there to help. Body & Soul specifically help teenagers with HIV, and I can honestly say that I can’t imagine how hard it is to deal with something like that at that age.’’
We’re so thankful to Terry for recognizing how vital the work that we do is for people affected by HIV and choosing to support us by giving up his time and energy to run a half marathon!
We hope that Terry is making a speedy recovery and that this is not the last we hear from him. From all of us here at Body & Soul, congratulations Terry for raising such a tremendous amount and for making it home in one piece!
