The Teen Spirit ‘Unseen Hero Awards 2013’

Posted on: 6th September 2013

What makes a Teen Spirit Party?

This year’s Unseen Hero Awards Night featured a showcase of performing young talent; the essential appearance of patron and resident DJ Tim Westwood and the recognition of personal achievement that would make anyone feel proud, including:

The Empathy Award, The Breakthrough Award, The Dream Catcher Award and the Mich Award for Outstanding Contribution to Teen Spirit. As you can see, these awards capture something that might normally get missed at your average Awards Night. It’s not about fitting people to awards but creating awards to recognise that very special personal achievement.

And were some of the other essential ingredients…

36 hours to go and the team of 30 volunteers from Norton Rose Fulbright arrive….and 4 very big spaces to transform into A Hollywood Awards Night!

The first ‘stars’ are sighted, but there’s a long way to go yet…

It’s starting to come together… somewhere for the paparazzi to capture the award winners.

Mr Westwood’s stage awaits… all materials ethically sourced from the local scrap project for zero expense ;-)

Make-overs by the team from MAC Cosmetics

The guests gather on the 3rd floor…

A room full of singing, spoken word and dance talent…

And 15 very proud and amazing award winners……. It was a great night!

Special thanks to :

Sylvie and the team from MAC

Tim Westwood

The great volunteers from Norton Rose Fulbright

And Body & Soul Volunteers!
