Body & Soul’s contibution to community health improvement is recognised with a Health & Wellbeing Award from the Royal Society of Public Health
Body & Soul is proud to be collecting a Royal Society of Public Health Health & Wellbeing Award today from Lord Patel of Bradford OBE.
The award recognises Body & Soul’s outstanding development and implementation of projects designed to promote health and wellbeing at a community level over the last 17 years. We are particularly honoured to be included as one of only 12 organisations recognised for its achievements in health improvement in 2013.
The annual RSPH Health & Wellbeing Awards recognise health organisations, education providers, social enterprises, local authorities, voluntary, public and private sector organisations of all sizes across the UK. The judging criteria is based mainly on organisations demonstrating a commitment to strategic leadership, workforce development and comprehensive health promotion issues, including addressing health inequalities.
The award, which lasts over a two year period, acknowledges the long-term impact of Body & Soul’s interventions to public health and health improvement. Many of Body & Soul’s community of over 4000 children, teenagers and adults experience profound health inequality and it’s really important to us that our work with a particularly marginalised and vulnerable community is being recognised.
