PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE NOW CLOSED FOR APPLICATIONS
Body & Soul is looking for an art therapist to join the BaSe team. The BaSe is a pioneering programme for 10-12 year olds who are aware of how HIV affects their family.
The service runs from 16:30-21.00 every Tuesday. The successful applicant will deliver tailored 1:1 support to individuals during the weekly service evening. Through the provision of art therapy we are seeking to provide a safe space for children to explore personal feelings, make positive changes in mood and emotional states, encourage healthy communication, improve self-esteem and develop confidence, promote wellness, manage stress and promote physical rehabilitation.
As a reflection of the changing nature of HIV, the children who are members at Body & Soul present a wide diversity of need. As such this role would suit a professional who is able to combine a warm, consistent approach with innovative and responsive methods.
We would welcome someone who has experience of working with computer graphics. Alongside the on-going assessment of the children’s individual needs, the applicant must be able to work well within a multidisciplinary team and be able to share information appropriately as required by the service leads.
