SRE It’s My Right: Join Us.

Do you believe that every child and young person is entitled to good quality sex and relationships education (SRE)?

Did you know that SRE is not compulsory in all schools?

As members of the Sex Education Forum and an organisation that has shown our commitment to this issue through our powerful campaign Life in my Shoes, we’re supporting the it’s my right campaign for statutory SRE as part of an entitlement to statutory personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education.

With a general election less than a year away and a Select Committee inquiry into SRE and PSHE open, it’s a great time to get cross-party commitment to legislative change to ensure that all schools provide SRE.

We’re asking people over 18 to email your MP about the issue. It’s really easy and there is a pre-prepared letter which uses your post-code to find your MP’s email address and sends the letter automatically.

It takes about 5 minutes and there’s an opportunity to personalize the letter with your own comments if you wish.

There’s also a petition exclusively for young people aged under 18 who want to voice their support for compulsory SRE. You can find out more about the under 18s petition on the Life in my Shoes newsfeed.

Thanks for your support, we’ll keep you posted!
