World Aids Day _Contemporary Africa

Posted on: 9th December 2015

Contemporary Africa a celebration of artists connected to Africa and the Diaspora was an incredible exhibition pulled off by our very own partnership and events organiser Rima Sams. Held at Mallet House, in Mayfair -one of the most beautiful space to show art  that was kindly donated by the Auction Rooms.  With Addison Gelpey as our Auctioneer and Georgia Spray as curator, we were very well looked after. Our guests supped on Champagne and Canopes by All the Kings Men catering and bid on a diverse collection of works donated by various established artists as well as more emerging names:  Ivar Wigan; Sokari Douglas Camp; Satch Hoyt; Mirella Ricciardi; Cederic Lollia; Phoebe Boswell; Ouattra Watts and Matilda Temperley being a few of the generous artists donating work to the cause.   The silent bidding then carried on over the weekend  and closed on Sunday evening.  We are still counting costs but are grateful to Rima and her team for pulling off  a successful fundraising  evening and a coming together of  trustees and supporters new and old of Body & Soul for a fine evening.  A massive thank you to everyone that came supported the event.
