THE BASE

Each session is carefully planned to meet the needs of the age group. The activities are skilled based and cover many different themes from problem solving, drama, creative expression to sports. Each session start with Circle Time, which focuses on relevant issues and introduces the evening's activities. This is also a time for homework prior to the evening's activities. The Base is a popular group so therefore, it is important that you telephone Rosie on 020 7383 7678 to book a place for your children.

The Body & Soul Experience for 10 - 12 year olds

One-to-one emotional support is available for children experiencing behavioural problems, to those who have been told of their HIV status or a family member's, and/or have been bereaved. Counseling can be set up as appropriate. A teacher provides Study Support for children/teenagers, acknowledging many of who will miss school through illness, be it their own or member/s within the family.

THE BASE HIV+ Group

This is a group for 10-12yr olds who are HIV+ and know of their status. This group meets monthly on a Thursday, Like our regular group for HIV+ teenagers, Teen Spirit, this gives children an opportunity to ask questions about HIV and talk through the impact that their HIV status has on their lives, helping to make living with HIV seem less frightening, in a safe supportive space which allows the children to build up support networks with other HIV+ children.
